ABOUT ME

Han Reichgelt, PhD, is currently professor of Information Systems in the in the School of Information Systems and Management in the Muma College of Business at the University of South Florida, St Petersburg campus.  Han has served at a number of universities, including the University of the West Indies, Jamaica, Georgia Southern University, and Southern Polytechnic State University (SPSU) in Marietta, Georgia, where he served as Dean of the School of Computing and Software Engineering.

At SPSU, Han spearheaded a number of initiatives to increase the diversity both among the student population and among faculty.  Data had shown that the ethnic composition of the student population more or less reflected the ethnic composition of the population of Georgia, but this certainly was not true for the gender composition.  Working with department chairs and other faculty, he was able to significantly increase the gender diversity among faculty, although it has to be admitted that his initiatives to increase gender diversity within the students population were less successful.

More recently, Han has used his data analytics and visualization skills to conduct a number of projects for non-profit organizations in the Tampa Bay area, including CASA, an organization dedicated to preventing domestic violence, and Habitat for Humanity Pinellas.

Han holds degrees in Philosophy and Psychology from Radboud University in the Netherlands and a PhD in Cognitive Science from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.
